1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ExposureShield (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
ExposureShield provides security and planning tools, including:
- Security monitoring and breach detection
- Digital legacy planning and inheritance tools
- Email exposure checks using Have I Been Pwned (HIBP) data
- Encrypted digital asset organization (where available)
The Service provides information and tools. It is not legal advice, and it does not replace advice from an attorney.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
- You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
3.2 Account Suspension and Termination
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that pose a security risk.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time (billing continues until the end of the current period).
- After cancellation/termination, data handling follows our Privacy Policy.
4. Subscription & Billing
4.1 Plans
- Security Protection: $4.99/month
- Legacy Planning: $7.99/month
- Complete Suite: $9.99/month
- Annual Plans: discount may be available
4.2 Billing and Auto-Renewal
- Billing is monthly or annual depending on the plan you choose.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before renewal.
- Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider (as applicable).
- Refunds are handled according to our Refund Policy.
4.3 Price Changes
We may change prices with advance notice. Unless required otherwise by law, price changes apply at the next renewal after the notice period.
5. Acceptable Use
5.1 You May
- Use the Service for personal or business security needs.
- Check email addresses you own or have permission to check.
- Use legacy planning tools for your personal planning needs.
5.2 You May Not
- Check email addresses without permission or legal authority.
- Use the Service for illegal, harmful, or abusive activities.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract the Service source code or proprietary data.
- Attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the Service, or overload systems.
- Share accounts beyond your subscription limits or allow unauthorized access.
6. Intellectual Property
- The Service, including branding, content, and software, is owned by ExposureShield or its licensors.
- You retain ownership of the data you submit, subject to the rights you grant to operate the Service.
- We may use aggregated and de-identified data to improve the Service.
- You may not use our trademarks without written permission.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:
- That third-party breach data (including HIBP) is complete or always current
- That the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- That legacy planning features will be legally valid in all jurisdictions
- That all security risks can be detected or prevented
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExposureShield will not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunities
- Security incidents beyond our reasonable control
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ExposureShield from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
10. Termination
- You may stop using the Service at any time.
- We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if required for security or legal reasons.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends.
- Where available, we may allow a limited window to export data after termination, subject to security and legal limits.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by law. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, form the entire agreement between you and ExposureShield regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements on this subject.
